Do you offer wet hire (with operator) for crane hire in Sydney and Canberra?
Yes. Nash Crane Hire offers both dry hire and wet hire with a licensed, ticketed crane operator. Wet hire is ideal when you need an experienced operator familiar with the equipment and local site conditions.
What types of cranes are available?
Our fleet includes mini crawler cranes (spider cranes) and telescopic crawler cranes. These machines are designed for restricted access, indoor lifts, rooftops, and constrained construction sites across Greater Sydney and the ACT.
How narrow an access can your mini crawler cranes fit through?
Our smallest spider cranes can fold down to as narrow as 750mm, making them ideal for doorways, corridors, and tight urban construction environments.
What areas do you service for crane hire?
We service all of Greater Sydney and Canberra/ACT, including Parramatta, Liverpool, Campbelltown, Penrith, Queanbeyan, Tuggeranong, Belconnen, Woden and Gungahlin.
Do I need a crane licence to operate?
Yes. A High Risk Work Licence (HRWL) is required for crane operation in Australia. If you don't have a licensed operator, we can supply a certified one through our wet hire service.
How quickly can you mobilise a crane to my site?

What size cranes do you hire out?
Our fleet covers crawler cranes from compact 3-tonne mini units through to 80-tonne telescopic crawler models. Mini cranes handle internal lifts and tight-access sites. Larger crawlers handle civil and infrastructure work where ground bearing and reach are critical. Talk to our team and we will size the right unit for your project.
Do you provide operators or just the crane?
Both. We can supply the crane wet (with a high-risk work licenced operator) or dry (operator supplied by you, subject to qualification verification). Most specialist lifts run wet so the operator has full familiarity with the unit.
Can your cranes work on industrial and warehouse sites?
Yes. Our crawler and mini cranes are regularly used on warehouse, distribution centre, and manufacturing sites for plant installation, structural steel placement, and mechanical fit-out. Tight access between racking, internal lifts under low ceilings, and uneven indoor floors are all standard work for us.
What about civil and infrastructure projects?
We work across civil and infrastructure sectors — bridge components, sub-station installs, utilities work, stormwater, sewerage, and major roadworks. Crawler cranes spread load across soft ground and uneven terrain that wheeled cranes struggle with.
Do you handle tight-access and restricted sites?
Tight-access work is our specialty. Internal warehouse lifts, courtyards, urban sites between buildings, heritage buildings, retail fit-outs, and shopping centre installs — we have spider cranes and mini crawlers that fit through standard doorways and operate inside live work environments.
How quickly can you mobilise a crane?
Most quotes turn into a delivery within days of confirmation. Same-day mobilisation is possible for urgent jobs within our regular service zones. Specialist equipment with longer mobilisation lead times will be quoted with a clear delivery window.
Are your cranes compliant with Australian standards?
Yes. The full fleet is maintained to AS 2550.10 compliance. Major inspections are current, operators hold the appropriate high-risk work licences, and all units carry the required compliance and insurance documentation. Government, civil, and Tier 1 contractor projects all run through Nash without compliance issues.
